Thommie Retter's love for dance is evident and his electric enthusiasm for showbiz is both inspiring and contagious. He gained accolades for playing the role of Mr. Braithwaite in Billy Elliot The Musical on Broadway, and since then has returned to his first love - teaching dance!!! Thommie, along with his wife Becca, own and operate their NYC based business, Retter Entertainment (which holds their classes here at Ripley-Grier) - He is also the director and choreographer for NYC Tap Crew, a professional teen tap dance company. Many of Thommie's students have gone on to work professionally on Broadway and in National Tours - shows include: Anastasia, Annie, Beetlejuice, Billy Elliot, Dr Zhivago, Finding Neverland, Fun Home, Kinky Boots, Pippin, The Lion King, The Sound of Music, Matilda, Macbeth, School of Rock, Caroline or Change, A Christmas Story, Beauty and the Beast and White Christmas. Tommie has also had the honor of working with the great Tony Danza, and even helped him prepare for his performance in Honeymoon in Vegas on Broadway.
